There are two primary ways that merchants can issue a refund to Qube.
Scenario 1
The first way is where the merchant adjusts the original transaction. In this case, the adjustment will happen right in the qube that you originally spent from and no action is needed.
Example:
1. You spent $100 at Target out of your Clothing qube.
2. You then decided to return something for $20.
3. Target adjusts the original transaction to be $80 instead of $100.
Scenario 2
The second way is where the merchant issues a credit for the returned items as a separate transaction. In this case, the refund transaction is not tied to the original purchase transaction in any way and therefore Qube has no way of knowing which qube to associate the refund with. This is where the Refunds section on the Overview Screen comes in handy.
All refunds that are not tied to a previous transaction by the merchant will land in the Refunds section. From here, you can swipe left on a transaction and tap 'Qube it' or you can tap the transaction to go to transaction details screen and 'Qube it' from there. Qubing a refund allows you to return the money to the qube it came from originally and reduce the 'spent' amount out of that qube.
