Option to reserve money for tips
It would be great if you could (in addition to opening a qube), specifying a tip amount that should be reserved (pulled from the balance of the qube) for the next transaction that comes through. That way, before the amount "settles" you have already "spent" that tip even if you don't see that during processing period. Then when it settles later, there would be no surprises or issues as you have already reserved that money.

What issues do your run into with tips now?

Interesting idea that I would support.
Here is how I see the problem:
- My Restaurant Qube's balance is $100
- I pay $45 for my meal and my qube balance is now $55.
- The server brings my receipt and I tip $10.
- A few days later, my $45 charge settles at $55, now my qube balance is $45.
The issue is the days between step 3 and 4. What if I forget about my tip and go to another restaurant and think I can spend $55 but I really only have $45 because of the $10 tip that will settle soon.
It could be nice to add a tip value to a pending transaction, then after you sign the receipt, you go into qube and enter your tip amount (optionally) and when the transaction settles, qube notifies me if it settles anything different than what I expect. My qube balance will automatically reduce by the amount I put in the tip. Once the transaction settles, then the qube balance reverts back using only the settled amount.
This also give me peace of mind that the server didn't add extra to my tip when the close the bill.

That makes sense. I've seen this now and I think it's a great idea that could apply to some other scenarios where a transaction may clear later at a higher amount. Being able to "set aside" the clearing amount so you can't spend it in the meantime would add assurance you won't overspend
